Supporting All of Our Customers
When you or one of your regular passengers suffers from a physical disability that requires mobility accommodations, you can always rely on Clawson Honda to help you get what you need. The Honda Handicap Mobility Program allows you to apply for reimbursements of up to $1,000 for the purchase and installation of qualifying adaptive vehicle equipment on any eligible purchased or leased Honda vehicle. If you or a member of your immediate family require vehicular mobility assistance like this, you may be able to apply for this program!
Adapting Your Vehicle
The process of adapting your vehicle includes these steps:
- Determine your state's driver's license requirements.
- Evaluate what your specific needs are. You can contact the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) for help if needed.
- Choose the right vehicle. Your evaluator, your adaptive installer and Clawson Honda will help you determine which Honda model will meet your needs the best.
- Choose a qualified mobility equipment installer, looking for reliable qualifications, capabilities, experience, warranty coverage and service. They will need to be members of the NMEDA.
- Get trained on how to use the new equipment.
- Complete and submit your application for reimbursement.
We can help you through this process as needed to ensure that you get the right vehicle and equipment and help you collect your reimbursement!
Reimbursement Requirements
In order to qualify for reimbursements from the Honda Handicap Mobility Program, you must be modifying a new purchased or leased Honda vehicle, and your request for reimbursement must be submitted within six months of the equipment installation. The adaptive equipment installation must have taken place within the time and mileage limits of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, and a prescription or medical documentation is required in order for a reimbursement to be considered, with the exception of wheelchair or scooter hoists or ramps.
